Everblue Nursery is a family run business owned by a father and son team, Alain and Steve Bouchet. Growing up in the French Alps Alain has always been surrounded by trees. His passion for trees began at a very early age. In 1965 he attended a forestry college in Paris, France and began dreaming of the day he would grow and sell his own trees. In 1974 Alain founded Alain's Tree Farm Ltd. near Irricana, Alberta where the first silver blue spruce were experimentally developed. Following the sale of the Irricana farm in 1987 Alain founded Everblue Nursery in Salmon Arm, British Columbia where several thousand silver blue spruce seedlings were further developed. In 1994 the Salmon Arm nursery was sold. In 1996 marketing of the silver blue seedlings began, resulting in an initial 12,000 seedling delivery to various commercial nurseries in the spring of 1997.

In 1998 Steve Bouchet finished his horticultural training at Olds college and joined his father in re-establishing Everblue Nursery in Alberta. That spring Steve took it upon himself to plant 5000 silver blue seedlings on land near Sundre, Alberta. It was then decided that Everblue Nursery would open up a retail tree lot in Calgary to service the growing need the city had for quality caliper trees.

In 1999 Everblue Nursery opened it's Bearspaw operations on the corner of Crowchild Trail and Rocky Ridge Rd. NW. The next year the nursery moved further west to the corner of Crowchild Trail and Twelve Mile Coulee Rd. where it remains today. In 2001 Everblue began runnning a second location in Calgary on Highway #8 west of Calgary in the Springbank area. The Springbank site is much larger than the Bearspaw site and stocks a larger variety of trees.

In 2003 Everblue Nursery acquired land on the west side of Highway #2 between Olds and Bowden, Alberta. This farm, known as the Silverblue Nursery, is being developed to grow a large variety of trees primarily for the Calgary market. Development of the Silverblue Nursery began in 2004 and will continue indefinitely with the first harvest of trees having already happened in the fall of 2005.

In the spring of 2004 Everblue harvested the first of the silver blue spruce trees planted in Sundre, Alberta and will continue to harvest these trees at varying heights until 2014.

Everblue Nursery is proud to be a member of Landscape Alberta Nursery Trades Association (LANTA) and will continue to provide high quality trees to Calgary and area homes and businesses for years to come.
